TEMPLE DESIGN

Temple Design is a distinctive furniture company located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The company specializes in the production of high quality wooden and upholstered furniture, lighting and other decorative accessories for the home.

Temple Design traces its origins to a modest retail shop - the first of many which now feature the "Indochina colonial" theme - established in Saigon in 1996 by one of the company's current owners. Since that time, Temple Design has evolved into a well-respected and sought-after exporter of unique, high-end furniture and lighting.
The company's manufacturing division has grown rapidly in the past six years, as Temple Design continues to develop new discerning clientele across the globe. Former mainstay markets Europe and Asia have now been supplemented with the U.S. Market, with the conclusion of a bilateral trade agreement between the U.S. and Vietnam, which has resulted in a dramatic drop in U.S. import duties on Vietnamese products.

Temple Design's own line of furnishings may be described as contemporary, with mixed influences from both East and West. Its unique pieces blend the most alluring features of several of the French styles - most significantly Art Deco - with Asian inspirations to remind us of a style which befitted Indochina in the first half of the 1900s. Recently, Temple design's creative team has also drawn inspiration from the more modern features of Vietnam's "post-colonial" era of the 1950's and 1960's, essentially an avant-garde period.
Prior to the Second World War, French designers commonly commissioned the production of their designs to artisans from Indochina, using lacquer, palisander and other luxurious materials, to create one-of-a-kind pieces. In creating its own line, Temple Design has revived these specialized techniques from prior periods and adapted them to modern times to create truly distinct pieces of furniture, lighting and decorative items.

In addition to producing its own line, Temple Design successfully manufactures exclusive designs of its clients across the world. Whether working with the designs of others or creating its own, Temple Design ensures that the utmost attention is given to quality and detail of its products. Through the use of highly skilled workers and the finest plantation woods, silks and other natural local materials, Temple Design is able to maintain a superior standard of production.

Temple Design provides distinctive, high quality furniture and lighting with professional delivery throughout the world.

The unique Indochinese style, which has become the hallmark of Temple Design is also captured in the company's restaurant, known as the Temple Club, located in the historical heart of Saigon.

Temple Design is owned by Luc Lejeune, a French national, Lee Baker, from the U.S., and Mark Gwyther, the Managing Director who is also from the U.S.  All three currently live in Saigon.
